Alright here we go, so for my first blog assignment I need to make up a television series for me to star in and who I'd have sponsor the show.
Here is my idea:
I'm the host of a reality game show called Makeover Face-off. The premise is a half hour show in which two teams of two are let loose in a mall. Their mission is to find someone to agree to a makeover then, with a limited budget, do their best to transform their player. This means from head to toe, outfit, shoes, accessories, hair, make-up, everything!
My sponsors would include: The Yorkville Club because one of the prizes for the winner is a year membership. Balmshell as their cosmetics would be used in the makeover and John Frieda because their products would be used in the hair makeover portion.
Here is a breakdown of the first episode.
The show starts with me introducing the two teams for the day. The Pink Team is two best friends, Kate and Mel. They are both 22 and students in university. The Green Team is sisters, Janie and Kelly. Janie is a junior in high school and Kelly is in university. Once informed of the rules, the teams are sent out on mission number 1, find their makeoveree. After frantically running around, both teams find a contestant. The Pink Team has found Mandy, a middle aged mom who needs to update her look, and the Green Team found Hilary, a busy university student that has low self esteem and given up on putting effort into her appearance.
The next challenge is for each team to get a brand new outfit for each contestant with a $200 budget. This will show how you can put together something great on a modest budget. The Pink Team finds Mandy an outfit that can go from work to dinner to a movie. It consists of a nice trouser pant, lacy cami and fitted jacket matched with some hot pumps, a few bangles and over-sized clutch purse. Great job by the Pink Team, big points. The Green Team comes up with an easy and fast look for Hilary. They found her a fitted straight leg jean, a blouse with a pop of colour, a chunky necklace and a simple metallic bag that will go with anything, very nice.
After the scoring, it is Round 3. This is where they go to the salon for hair and make up. Professionals will use John Freida and Balmshell products to transform the contestants but have no input at all, the transformation is completely up to the teams. The Pink Team turns Mandy's long bleach blond hair into a more soft honey coloured bob and tones down her harsh black eye make up for some more neutral and age appropriate brown tones. The Green Team takes Hilary's frizzy mousy brown mane into a shoulder length chocolate-coloured sleek do. They also teach her a quick five minute face to even out the skin tone and give the eyes a little pop. But what will the judges think? Find out after these messages.
